"The philosophy is simple. We combine innovative design, safety and bold colors. This makes each of our products unique" - this is the shortest possible self-characterization of the Danish brand Done by Deer.
With these colors, it's not at all that at Done by Deer they are somehow particularly fond of mottling. On the contrary, when it comes to products for children, boldness is sometimes about self-restraint. Done by Deer is Scandinavian design at its best - muted colors, intriguing patterns, soothing tranquility, simplicity, elegance and comfort. If you are a fan of this style, you don't have to give it up at all when decorating a child's room or preparing a layette for a newborn. Done by Deer will help you fend off the attack of neon pink!
Contrary to the name, the main designer of Done by Deer, founded in 2014, is not any horned eater from the forest, but Helene Hjorth, and Hjorth means "deer" in Danish. "Great products for children are functional and safe, but also aesthetically pleasing from the parents' point of view. The design, colors and materials are meant to stimulate the child's senses and contribute to their development, but they should also harmonize with the rest of the house - that's our ultimate goal," - Helen says. And she knows what she's talking about, because she's a mother of four children herself. She has been designing toys and home furnishings for the little ones for years. Her own brand is therefore an outgrowth of her vast experience and current trends.
Done by Deer, despite its still short history, has already won a number of important awards led by the Red Dot Award, the equivalent of the Oscar in the design world. In 2016, it was won by their Activity Gym, a toy headband with an innovative design that allows it to be placed stably on a variety of surfaces. Two years later, Helen picked up a Red Dot for Tiny Toys - three small rattles carefully designed for children from 2 to 6 months of age, tailored to their rapidly changing needs and skills and supporting the development of small motor skills. And that's not all the Red Dots that Done by Deer boasts.
The brand also has dishes, designer decorations and textiles designed for children.
